To encourage the uptake of electric vehicles (EVs) within businesses and workplaces, the UK government is offering financial support for the installation of EV charging points.
The Workplace Charging Scheme (WCS) is administered by the Office for Zero Emission Vehicles (OZEV) and is available to any business, charity and public authority that meet the applicant and site eligibility criteria.
The WCS provides a financial contribution up to 75%, capped at £350 per socket installed, towards the upfront costs of installing a workplace EV charger and any single applicant can apply for up to forty charge points.
Applicants can apply for the Workplace Charging Scheme via an online application form. If successful, they will receive a unique voucher code by email within five working days. The voucher needs to be redeemed with a WCS-approved installer for a suitable charge point within 180 days from the date of issue.
The deadline for applications is Wednesday 31 March 2024 at 11:59pm. You can read more about the application criteria and details on how to apply here.
